In an effort to provide our clients with the latest information on COVID-19, we have created this page with consolidated information about how we can help you and your family navigate successfully through the Coronavirus pandemic. Please check back often for the latest news on COVID-19 and vaccination efforts from Human Longevity.
We are expecting to have the COVID vaccine available at our clinic soon and will provide this based on the Centers for Disease Control and state of California guidelines for our 100+ members. Please call our client services team at 844.838.3322 to find out more.
We have created the 100 + program, and membership in the program entitles you to the following benefits related to the pandemic:
• COVID testing for active COVID infection via nasal swab/PCR
• COVID antibody testing, which can help confirm prior exposure to COVID.
As part of a 100+ visit, you may discover if you have two genetic variants that could put you at high risk for a severe COVID infection. One variant is connected to your ABO blood type. Individuals with blood type A may have a higher risk, while those with blood type O may be somewhat protected. The other variant is rs11385942 on chromosome 3 and is associated with a severe immune response to a COVID infection. Please note that this second variant is not available through other genome testing companies such as 23andMe, Ancestry, or MyHeritage. Both variants were originally reported in a genome-wide association study (GWAS) published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
Your 100+ visit (watch our Day of the Visit video) includes a precision medicine approach to optimizing your health which will minimize your risk of having a severe COVID response. Our integrative testing detects early signs of diabetes, coronary artery disease, cardiac disease, and other metabolic disorders. With early detection, you will be able to work with your team of dedicated physicians to elevate your health and lifestyle, thereby reducing your risk of severe COVID infection. If you are interested in becoming a 100+ member, fill out the form to schedule a preliminary consultation with our experts.
If you already have a COVID-19 infection, we can help you with many ways to make sure you are as healthy as before.
• Monitoring your cardiac health
Although COVID is primarily a respiratory illness, it also has a significant impact on cardiovascular health, sometimes leaving patients with heart abnormalities such as cardiomyopathy, impaired ventricular function, and arrhythmia. As a 100+ member, we will monitor your cardiac function using radiation-free technologies such as EKG, echocardiogram, and cardiac MRI to help you understand your cardiac health in the wake of the illness.
• Monitoring your brain health
Many reports suggest COVID can impact the central nervous system. As part of your 100+ visit, we will make sure there you have no white matter inflammation or other brain changes using a radiation-free non-contrast brain MRI.
• Monitoring your lung health
If you suffered from COVID-related pneumonia, you may be a candidate for a CT scan to evaluate and monitor your lungs for COVID pneumonia-related findings. We will also be able to test your lung function through spirometry testing.
